Description
Found body part 2- As a criminal investigator, provide a plan that identifies the most important pieces of evidence and chronologically lists your tasks to complete. Also include an initial theory, or theories, of the case (who did it and why). Your plan can be a complete narrative or provide short narratives with bullets to outline the steps. Please make sure to look at the attached map. Please use new facts to conduct the narrative, however, I also provided some old facts.
Old fact
On 9/3/20 at 0930 hours the body of an unknown race male subject was found in a wooded area near a commercially zoned part of Montgomery County. The body was clothed with socks but no shoes. The police were called to the area by an anonymous caller who was able to block their phone number from the 911 center.
New Facts
The Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCME) conducted an autopsy on the body of the decedent. His fingerprints were taken and submitted for identification. The results of these examinations revealed the following results:
The decedent remains unidentified ®bsp;no fingerprint records on file.
- OCME states that the manner of death is blunt force trauma, stabbing, and a gunshot wound to the head.
Toxicology results ®bsp;diphenhydramine and alcohol at non-toxic levels
No DNA records (complete lab results due next week)
- Initially thought to be an adult male either Caucasian or Hispanic
Approximately 5-11 / 185 lbs.
- The estimated date of death was 14-28 days prior to the discovery of the body.
A search of the area
- Located approximately 50 yards from the body
Womanænbsp;purse with miscellaneous contents ®bsp;no id and nothing of value
- Next to the purse is an old cell phone/flip phone Nextel type
Located approximately 20 yards from the body
- One leather boot (Combat style size 11)
Bloody latex gloves turned inside out
Located in the parking lot next to the wooded area
- Smashed video camera with a view of the wooded area
The camera belongs to Goodwill Store the camera had not been discovered to be broken until officers were interviewing store owners.
- There are no other video cameras facing the parking lot near the body.
Homeless encampment of three people living in woods approximately 200 yards from the body.
- None of the homeless subjects have been located for interviews.
Interviews
All of the business owners say they have not seen or heard anything suspicious in the past week.
- Two of the business owners claim fist fights do occur at the Island Pride and El Meson restaurants on occasion.
The manager of Walnut Hill Automotive says his business was burglarized about one month ago and the case remains unsolved. The video from the burglary is with Detective Allen from the 6th District Investigative Section and fingerprints were recovered from that burglary.
Calls for service
- A large white box truck parked to the rear of Goodwill on 8/4/20 (approximately 4 weeks ago) at 11pm. Patrol did not write a report but did talk with the driver who was lost making a delivery.
8/5/20 at 10pm suspicious persons in the woods to the rear of Island Pride restaurant. Anonymous caller thinks itænbsp;homeless people or kids in the woods being loud. Patrol responded ®bsp;nothing seen or heard.
- 8/5/20 at 11:30 pm motorcycles racing around the area of Goodwill onto Rt. 355 almost hit the caller as she was driving home from work. Patrol found nothing when they arrived.
8/6/20 at 4:00 am commercial alarm at Walnut Hill Automotive ®bsp;patrol responded and found business broken into suspect gone.
- 8/15/20 at 10:30 pm assault and battery at El Meson. Patrol responded and two gang members involved in fight both fled before police arrived. Witnesses describe suspect #1 as a white male biker wearing Paganænbsp;vest and suspect #2 as a Hispanic male possibly in MS-13 or Latin Kings.
