University of Central Florida History Discussion
Description
I first off would like to say how impressed and inspired I am by your resilience as students in these troubling times. In my opinion, when it comes to topics such as history where it is difficult to fully convey a subject’s importance without being able to gauge the class-wide reception of the material. That said, this has been a unique opportunity to write out and explore subjects I would have otherwise shared with you all during our in-class sessions. I appreciate your patience and ability to draw such insightful conclusions toward the material shared in the modules and hope that you may by this following week have clearer picture of modern American history.
Typically I use our final class discussion assignment as an opportunity to critique the in-class lectures for bias, blindspots, and areas that could further expanded upon. I feel that since we have spent the last near-fifteen weeks examining the strengths and weaknesses of alternative forms of visual and auditory media, it’s then only fair that for the last assignment you should be able to do the same type of reflection on the structure of this course.
Similar to the guidelines given for your documentary reviews, I would like to see your own critical assessment and opinions on the material covered in class. Be sure to reference specific topics that we have discussed in class along with insights you have learned from the documentary reviews.
In a 300-500 word summary/review, followed by two 100 word replies to your classmates: Write a short reflection on the the ideas and concepts that we have addressed over this semester. Your review should include:
