The title is the research you want to study on the animal you choose like tudying x on x animal”
Description
Hi this is for a psychology class called nimal Cognition the idea of the paper is to write a research proposal paper which you should pick a topic covered in class from the slide I shared called ¯tes for the Grant Proposal®bsp;the second slide contain topics covered in class for the one topic you want to do in one animal you chose which also should be a research that hasn been done before, to be clear Just choose one topic from the list pick any animal of your choice to do a research on that specific topic then think about what research(research proposal) that you want to do then you should choose 5 references relevant to the topic you chose that are peer reviewed. The research proposal is 6-7 pages double spaced with 1 inch margins but you will get a deeper incite about it in the instruction below and the slide I shared with you/p>
Note:- Look at the instruction below and the slide I shared with you for a deeper and accurate understanding of the assignment.
The topic title is the research you want to study on the animal you choose, for example ®bsp;Studying x on x animal®bsp;or the title you think is right for the paper.
Instruction by the instructor
You are going to write a grant application for a small amount of money (say, $20,000) to do an experiment on some aspect of animal cognition. Your grant proposal should be 6-7 pages, double spaced, with 1 inch margins. To convince the review panel, you will need to tell them:
- What the hypothesis is
- Briefly, what method you will use to test it
- Why this scientific question is interesting and important.
With respect to the last item, you should state the scientific findings that have led up to your idea, that is, the background to your idea. Any statement of fact should have a scientific citation linked to it ®bsp;in this class, we do not state unsubstantiated facts. Therefore, you should have read at least 5 references relevant to your topic. At the end of your paper, have a )terature cited®bsp;section, with both an MLA formatted citation AND an html link to the paper.

bout half (3 pages) should be background/motivation of problem
he rest should be hypothesis, methodology, etc.
Tips for picking a paper topic
he paper topic must be on some aspect of animal COGNITION or
EMOTION
t doesn have to refer to the brain specifically , (ie, be about
neurobiology), but it should measure behavior that reflects whatÊgoing on in the brain
he behavioral measures shouldn be just about behavior per se, but
it should reflect back on whatàhappening in the brain (again,
cognition or emotion)

Having trouble picking a topic?
ick your favorite study from the course so far, and start reading
ead the papers cited in the intro, or
ind a good review
s you read, write down any questions you have that crop up
ick your favorite question, and see if it has an answer in the
literature
f it does, continue the process until you identify an unanswered
question
Uniqueness vs. motivation
Methodology used
ocial transmission of problem solving
ath tracking for spatial navigation

ransitive inference measured by social hierarchy
Operationalization
f you¥ looking into exploring high level cognition, you have to
convince the reviewers that what you are measuring is a good proxy
for this aspect of cognition
xample: Depression
o justify your measures, use:
se of measures in other animals
se of measures in humans
orrelation of your measures with other measures
Motivating your topic
hy did you pick the species you picked?
hat evidence do you have that your hypothesis might be
supported?
hat is the literature that built up to this question?
