This is what a typical land or resource planning document contains (or should contain). See examples in the course documents folder and online.

• Title Page
• Table of Contents page
• List of Figures and Tables
• Description of environmental setting (existing conditions).
• Identified issues and problems to be addressed in this plan.
• Objectives or goals to be achieved (desired outcomes).
• Evaluation and selection of alternative ways to achieve goals or outcomes.
• Policies recommended for eventual adoption by decision makers who use this plan.
• Implementation measures and how to carry them out. This is a detailed task list of things that will be done (actions) to achieve the goals, including who will do them and when they will be done. This is the most important part of the document!!
• Monitoring and evaluation to be done after completion of implementation.
• References and other sources of information and ideas.
