DBR8-1 (MR)
Hello everyone,
Last group discussion, we made it! I started my journey with SNHU two years ago. This has been an
incredible adventure. I started the trip with one goal to finish. I had no other goal than that. I honestly
do not have any idea what to do with this degree. After retiring from the Army, I found an easy job to
keep me moving. Unfortunately, I discovered the job was boring after two months. I still needed to
challenge myself. Balancing school, work, and coaching sports was that challenge. Now that I am done, I
must find another challenge. I want to push harder at work for more responsibility. But I do not see
myself working here much longer. We live in area that really does not require a person with my
background to have a degree. There are a bunch of military related jobs here for civilians. But I miss my
life in the Army. I am not ready to return there yet.
We could move someplace else. The cost of living here is perfect though. A few companies south of us
look promising because of the degree. Budweiser, Kraft, and Lockheed Martin are the primary ones I am
talking too. However, I must factor travel time to those jobs if we do not move closer. Two hours a day
traveling means I cannot coach anymore either. I could go for my MBA. The thought of writing more
papers is dreadful at the moment after the capstone paper. Maybe I will just start another degree
program. Who knows what I will do next? I do not even know. Being retired gives me some flexibility
where I do not have to decide anytime soon. It was great working with all of you. Thank you for
awesome feedback through the course. It helped my capstone out a lot. Good luck with your future
endeavors.
