1. The project assigned to you has a number of base failures that must be mined up. Your
lead person informs you the estimate for performing FDR involves removal of 1,500
feet by 30 feet by 8 inches of existing street. How long do you estimate the work will
take if the crew can only remove and replace 350 tons of material per day?
2. How many tons of asphalt will you need to complete the work in Problem 1 above if the
new pavement thickness is 4 inches?
3. How many cubic yards of base material is needed for Problem No. 1?
4. You¥ in charge of a cold milling crew. You¥ been assigned three projects:
a. ABC Avenue: 1,200 feet by 18 feet
b. XYZ Lane: 750 feet by 10 feet
c. LMNOP Boulevard: 4,800 feet by 64 feet
For each street calculate the following:
