Product Manager Assignment
This assignment is to be treated as a simulation where you are the Product Manager of a
growing technology company and are tasked with sending a memo to the CEO communicating
your teamàProduct Roadmap. You may choose the company whom you wish to create a
Roadmap for. You will not be graded based on whether I believe the products and features are
right for that company. You will instead be graded on your demonstration of understanding why
a product roadmap is important and how it can be implemented and communicated to important
stakeholders.
This memo should include:
1. A visual representation of a product roadmap, outlining at least 4 major products. It’s your
choice on how to show this (whether it includes timing, etc). But there should be some sort of
visual representation.
2. An accompanying written explanation of the Roadmap itself, outlining
– Overarching product strategies that helped shape this roadmap.
– Why each components fits well into the overarching product strategy. Each of the 4 major
products should be covered in describing why they fit well within the overall product strategy.
– Milestones the company will be able to achieve once each piece of the roadmap is completed.
These milestones shouldn be features that your company/product can now offer, but rather the
implications to your business.
Along with the visual representation, Part 2 of the above should be no fewer than approximately
1,000 words.
