Explaining a Logical Fallacy
For this assignment, you will choose one type of logical fallacy found in chapter 6 of your
textbook and present relevant and important information regarding this type of fallacy to the
class.
Your presentation must include:
clear definition of the fallacy you are presenting
n explanation of how this fallacy is either based on inadequate reasoning or how it is
meant to provide misdirection
hypothetical example of the fallacy that clearly illustrates how it can be used
real-life example of how this fallacy has been used
o Description of the situation in which the fallacy was used
o Explanation of who is making the fallacy and why they benefit from its use
isual aids that are relevant to the material you are presenting
Your presentations should last between 5 and 10 minutes.
