Description
After conducting and recording the interview you will complete a 4-page reflection paper (not including cover page, references, and questions asked) that summarizes your experience. Please include a copy of all the actual questions, along with the signed consent form. Please put the questions and link to the video at the end of your paper as an appendix.
The paper must be written in American Psychological Association (APA) format and should include a discussion of the topics/questions below. An abstract is not required.
- Background information of the interviewee, their ethnic background, age, cultural location, etc.
What counseling/interviewing techniques (both verbal and non-verbal) did I utilize to orient the interviewee to the experience and establish rapport?
Be sure to provide rationale for the questions you asked (Why did you choose to ask those questions, and in that order?)

Client : I am doing well, thank you.
Counselor : The reason why am here is to see how you
have been doing.
Client : Ok
Counselor How long have you been with stress?
Client : I have been under depression and stress. My
father was killed in Iraq during the war in 2006. Then my
siblings left the country and my mom and I became alone
from a family of 6.
Consoler : Where did you live?
Client : I lived in Iraq/Baghdad.
Counselor : I`sorry to hear what you have been going
through. Can you explain how your father die? And how
your siblings left without you and your mother?
Client ; During the war, an explosion occurred and he
disappeared when he was there. I was kidnapped.
Counselor : How were you kidnapped?
Client : I got kidnapped, but I escaped from them. We had
to travel to another country to be able to immigrate to an
unknown country. We did not have any money. Our
businesses were burned, home, and everything in general.
We went to Lebanon, I was only 16 and my mom was an
old lady, we could not make it financially. I had to work
even if I was underage. Back to the story, when I used to
leave my school and walk home, I used to see dead
bodies, I was sick of seeing peopleàheads chopped and
placed on their backs. It was very scary. I used to always
then when will be my turn. Since this was daily.
Consoler : Matthew, I am very sorry that you had to go
through all this.
Consoler : Ok so you decided to travel as a refugee better
than crossing an illegal border because of the cost or what
was your main idea?: Yes because we did not ; client;
have any money and we were struggling anyways, plus
my mom was an old lady.
Counselor : What do you think can be helpful for you?
Client : I have been improving in the U.S. since itàa safe
place, and I have accomplished a lot. I appreciate you
being here today listening to me which most of the time
when I talk about it, makes me feel safer and not under
stress anymore.
