Description
Review the AHA document and to research the awards at the end for community care impact. Specifically, you will need to review each of the Award Systems (e.g., the NOVA Award, Foster G. McGaw Prize, or Equity in Care Award) and the recent awardees and/or funded projects. This document is available at https://www.aha.org/system/files/media/file/2019/10/AHA-Community-Health-and-Equity-Resources.pdf Links to an external site.. You are encouraged to go beyond the AHA or Award Systems7ebsites to learn more about an awardee or project if possible.
Write a minimum 2-3 page paper about one of the Award Systems and one selected awardee or project, making sure to describe both the award system and the awardee and discuss specific aspects of community, public and/or population health addressed by the selected awardee or project. For example, to the extent you are able, you can answer the following questions:
What important population health issue(s) did the awardee or project address and discuss whether they were appropriately compelling and why?
What population health management strategies were used to address the issue(s) targeted and do these align with any of the components of the Public Health 3.0 Model?
What do you think made this awardeeàprogram or project award winning? What was unique about their program or project, or the populations served? Describe the level of collaboration, including whether it was appropriate and did it involve proper community stakeholders? Were any public health organizations involved?
Of these questions, at minimum it is imperative that you clearly identify the important health issues addressed and discuss whether they were compelling and provide a detailed discussion of the important population health management strategies used. You will need to use external resources in these analyses.
