1. View the 55-minute, 2019 PBS documentary, The Abortion Divide Links to an external site..
2. As you watch, jot down at least 2 quotations that catch your ear. They may be something that resonates with you, something that challenges your own views, something that surprises or startles you, or some new piece of information. Ideally, you should have at least one quote representing each side of the abortion debate (i.e., pro-choice / pro-life), to show that you are listening to each side of the argument. Comment on why you took note of them.
3. Include your quotations in your initial post, but comment further to offer a broad reflection on this substantial viewing.

Here are a couple of examples from my own viewing and reflection as to how you might comment on a quotation or two. ~BLeB

@17:25 “Abortionist Dr. George Tiller 7as shot in his church while he was an usher on a Sunday morning.-

• This is truly tragic, when an anti-abortion extremist (who purports to be pursuing a righteous cause by defending the unborn?) walks into a church and kills someone. That makes no sense. (After googling, I discovered the assassin did, in fact, suffer from mental illness.)

@22:20 “What I hope I feel is a sense of peace with these two beings that I have chosen not to bring into the world. Thank you for choosing me, and I`honored to be given this gift of life. And also, I can do it right now ¢ –

• This is a striking contrast when compared to a woman who maintains she can do what she wants with her own body (i.e., who does not acknowledge any personhood of the fetus.) Taryn (the woman’s name) was actually talking to the twins — not about them — as if they were real persons. Did she think she would meet them in some afterlife? Her comments betray a striking pro-life belief in the moral status of the fetuses even at this early stage in their development.
