This is part 1 of this research paper. Part 1 is due this Thursday at 7pm (PST). Send me a research proposal in the form of a simple paragraph describing the approach that you plan to take in your final paper through email. Don’t forget to include the topic, a working thesis statement, and some of the resources you expect to use. Also include aims, rationale, research questions, and scholarly sources that you are planning to incorporate in your paper. I want to focus on culture and lack of budget to do missions as the two mission issues that presents both challenges and opportunities in the church. 

The entire research paper is due in seven weeks. I will come back closer to the due date for the entire paper. 

Submit a 10-page Research Paper on The Contextual Issues of Missions for the American Churches. Include at least 10-12 resources in your bibliography that will develop your research in relation to Missions Issues for American Churches: Opportunities and Challenges.

The contexts of American churches differ from state to state, region to region, cities to cities. You need to determine what missions issues are both challenges and opportunities to your church to engage in the mission of God. The following are what I see from a distance.

1. Immigrations issues

2. Economic issues such as poverty, homelessness, hunger, joblessness, etc.

3. Culture

4. Religion

5. Secularism

6. Lack of training in the church

7. Lack of budget to do missions

8. Sex trafficking, etc.
