If you had to choose between having a strong economy and a weak military or having a weak economy and a strong military, which would they choose and why?

This is my classmates response :

Strong economy rather than military
A strong economy and military are essentials in nation. If I had to choose between having a strong economy and a weak military or having a weak economy and a strong military, I definitely choose to have a strong economy and a weak military. A strong economy is a prerequisite for military strength, which some refer to be the peak of dominance in global politics. In this era, economic resources are becoming more significant (Ginsberg et al., 2021). A strong economy favors the entire nation. Without a strong economy there is impossible to have a strong military. In order to have a strong military, the country needs money to provide support to the armed services. Similarly, a strong economy provides more jobs to people in the country, better health programs, education centers among others. The United States continues to be the only nation with real global influence and power in every economic and political sphere (Bush 1991). Finally, there is no doubt that a strong economy is beneficial to the entire country in improving lifestyle and assisting Americans in supporting their families through accessible commodities and services.
