Description
create a unit test plan based on the DFD you created in week four. Here is an example of what you will need to submit.
The following DFD diagram is from our textbook: Figure 5-10 Page 153
The following is a unit test plan for the Student Entity:
Module NameStudentModule OverviewThe student submits their work. Their work is graded and the result of the grade (graded work) is shared with the student.Module InputSubmitted WorkModule OutputGraded WorkTest Case(s)Name:Week One Complete AssignmentInput/Output:OutputDescriptionVerify week one assignment is complete by checking that all questions are answered.Expected ResultSuccess – All questions are answered.Actual ResultName:Week One Complete AssignmentInput/Output:OutputDescriptionVerify that week one assignment has the student nameExpected ResultSuccess – All assignments have student nameActual ResultName:Week One Teacher Provided FeedbackInput/Output:InputDescriptionVerify that the teacher provided feedback for each week one assignmentExpected ResultSuccess – Feedback is provided for all graded assignmentsActual Result
For your homework you will use the above unit test plan template and create a unit test plan for your DFD. I want your unit test plan to include the following:
A minimum of four until test cases for each entity in our DFD. If you have four entities in your DFD you will need 16 test cases. In my example above I have three test cases.
I want unit test cases for both Input and Output of your entities.

WEEK 4 ASSIGNMENT
?
List four elements used in DFDs, draw the symbols, and explain how they are used.
.
The four elements used in Data Flow Diagrams are as follows:
rocess
ata store
xternal Entity
ata flow
Process: This process alters or transforms the entering data into an output, manipulating
the data. Rectangles with rounded sides that depict operations (which mainly include
input-processing-output) have three descriptive elements:
Data store: Within a system, information is kept in a data store. A slender, open-ended
rectangle is used to depict it. Data stores can be short-term accumulations, like batches
of papers awaiting processing or long-term files like sales ledgers. The reference should
be followed by an arbitrary number for each data storage.
External Entity: An external procedure or system that transmits or receives data to and
from the system shown in the figure. They are depicted by squares and go by sources,
terminators, sinks, or actors.
Data flow: The movement of information from its source to its destination is shown by a
data flow. A line with arrowheads indicating the flow direction serves as a representation
of data flow. Written, spoken, or electronic information always flows to or from a process.
The processes or data storage at the head and tail of each data flow and a description of
its contents may serve as references.
