Literature Review
Description
Write a literature review paper about your capstone topic/issue:
Matrimony has roots in the ownership of women, this has permeated into legal and social status. Women are often pressured by their spouses to adopt their spouses’ last names. Is this an anti-feminist agenda?
I would also love to touch on the changing of prefixes of women who are single versus married and how this is no longer done in France (Mrs, Miss, Ms)
Finally, it is anti-feminist thought process to believe that family or surname is kept alive with the birth of boys and not girls? “Boys are said to carry on the family legacy etc”.
Include the following:
- An introduction with a thesis statement. A thesis statement should succinctly capture what your paper will cover. The rest of the introduction will provide an overview of the topicàbackground so that there is some context for the specific topic you have chosen to cover. This prepares the reader for your topic.
- A description of your topic/issue. Here, you will offer a more specific and focused overview of the topic you selected. So, you begin more broadly in the Introduction and become more focused and specific as you move into the discussion of your topic.
- A thematic, synthesis of research related to your topic/issue. This is not an annotated bibliography, but rather a cohesive discussion of the literature. Be sure to connect ideas and create a logical flow between articles and findings.
- A description of suggestions or best practices recommended for your topic/issue. Here, you will offer the !ke-aways&rom the research. What did you learn from diving into this literature and what are the implications?
- A conclusion. This should include a summary of your findings and main themes in the paper and any final thought.
