Project Description and Guidelines
Introduction
The main aim of this project is to train you on the fundamental concepts of Cybersecurity by
practicing practically on different tools. The project scope covers the following stages:
he theoretical background of the selected concept (including basic definition, the
technical description, its usage in daily life and industry)
he available tools and the platform (win/Linux/etc)
onducting experiment on at least THREE tools(ONE TOOL FOR EACH
MEMBER) to investigate how they are working, the differences between them, and the
pros & cons for each.
o Show the tools/process
o State the vulnerabilities.
o Implement the attack.
o Illustrate the impact.
o Suggest Prevention/Detection Techniques [Countermeasures].
ompile the finding and write a report
The students are free to choose any project idea which might be interesting to them. YOU MAY
CHOSSE FROM THE FOLLOWING IDEAS.

Webs security (OWASP, DIVA, DVWA, portswigger) (refer to Web Application

Information Gathering and Port scanning
Burpsuite for different purposes
Social Engineering attacks using setool & Metasploit

Guidelines:
There are four concrete phases for the project, as follows:
1. Project Proposal (WEEK 8)
By the proposal deadline, you must submit a proposal describing:
The selected Topic
The team members list along with the role of each member.
A brief on the topic: The theoretical background of the selected concept (
including basic definition, the technical description, its usage in daily life and
industry)
The assumed scenario (problem definition).
What is (are) the tool(s) are you proposing to use.
A timeline illustrates the work distribution among the team members of the
project period.
2. Midway Progress Follow-up meetings (WEEK 11)
A short presentation on your progress and achievement (your progress should
be at least 60% completion rate of writing & experiment.
