HSCI 2101 WU Psychology Data Collection for The Stress Diary Chart
Description
A Data Collection Form for the Stress Diary is provided as an attachment to this section. Start documenting events or situations that you would term stressful, at least three per day, and your reactions to these events or situations at the start of the class for two consecutive weeks (14 days). Once you have completed the readings for Week 3, answer the set of questions pertaining to the Stress Diary (see Weekly Sessions folder for details).
First one must have 3 entries per day, for a total of 14 days using the attached template. Then at least 1 page response to the questions presented below related to the stress diary. The entries should be for a male who is in the US Army.
In order to receive full credit for these assignments you must:
- Make a minimum of 3 entries per day
- Complete all the columns for each entry by giving descriptions that are (a) understandable to someone who doesn’t know you and your daily routines, and (b) are as concrete and detailed as the limited space permits (writing “was nervous” or “stressed out” is not enough).
- Use and explicitly refer to as much information as possible from your Stress Diary (including, e.g., intensity and duration of stress reactions) to answer the questions.
- Attempt to classify your coping reactions and strategies by using the terminology proposed in the readings for Week 3
- Make a plausible connection between the documentation in your Stress Diary and your answers to the questions (see below).
- Taken together, your answers must be at least 1 page (double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font, 1 inch margin) in length.
Duplicate the template as needed; use more than one sheet per day if necessary. Do not hesitate to contact the instructor should you have any questions.
Respond to the questions:
- What are the types of stressors that are most frequent in your life?
- What are the particular locales or set of responsibilities that produce a great deal of stress for you?
- What are the most common reactions to stressful events that you display consistently? What coping coping strategies do you commonly use?
- What are some things that you could do to reduce the amount of stress in your life?
- Reflect on how keeping this diary has helped you (or not) becoming more aware of the ways daily stress impacts your wellbeing.
