Using Warcross as the basis for your analysis, determine what aspects of the novel allude to
current social issues.
Step 2
Create a PPT (not a Google SlideShow) that meets the following guidelines:
? 10-12 Slides
? Title Slide: Book Cover
? Subsequent slides: Relevant Images from the novel, as well as analogous images to
current society.
? No Text. At. All. Even Slide Titles. Exception: images can include text
? Reference Slide (all pictures and sources cited) – this will not count towards the 10-12
slides
Step 3
In the notes section of your PPT, write out your ãript- what you plan to say for each slide.
The following should be addressed in the PPT:
? General Warcross info: author, date of publication, audience reception, controversy,
etc.
? The basic plot of the novel
? Three components of the novel that touch on modern social concerns or problems. This
can be a theme, a scene, some aspect of the plot, etc. You may focus on multiple
connections or focus on a single connection using multiple examples for support.
? Explanation (researched) of relevant modern events and concerns
? Specific examples – both in the novel and the related modern problem or issue.
You can arrange your ideas in any order you like, just make sure the above is covered.
