Research Assignment: The Current Status of the Actions Taken by the Central Bank of the United States (the Fed) and the U.S. Congress on the Topic of Development of a Digital U.S. Dollar

Description:  This assignment requires students to research and then based on the research write a paper focused on and detailing the current status of actions taken by the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Congress on the topic of development of a digital U.S. currency (U.S. Dollar).  Hence, it is a research assignment in which students will write and submit a brief research paper (2-3 pages of content on the assigned topic + title page + References page).

To complete this research assignment students should read and follow all of the following details and instructions: 

• Each student completes the necessary research.  A minimum of 3 valid sources are required for this paper. As the topic is the current status of actions taken by the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Congress on the topic of development of a digital U.S. Dollar, of course sources must be current (within the last year) and reputable, valid sources (no Wikipedia).  A search of the web can probably bring up numerous publications that might have articles related to this topic.  In addition, the Federal Reserve maintains numerous websites/webpages (for example, each of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks/Districts has a website; the Board of Governors has a website, etc.) and one or more of those may serve as valuable and reliable sources of information.  Additionally, the HCC library has many databases and other helpful resources, and students can easily enlist a reference librarian’s help in finding resources by clicking on the link to the library(ies) on the HCC website and using the online chat function there to connect with a reference librarian and ask for assistance in finding sources.
