Living through a pandemic has not only short term consequences,
experienced differently by each of us, but likely will have long term
consequences as well. Although we don know at this point how the
pandemic will ,ay out,7e can reflect on our own experiences. We can
also think sociologically about the ways in which the pandemic has
impacted social norms, social interaction, and social institutions.
Construct a short essay (a minimum of two full double-spaced pages in
length) that addresses the questions listed below. Use essay format: You
need an introductory paragraph, several body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
The essay should be written as a first person narrative. Include both your
personal experience (see below) as well as a discussion of the impact of the
pandemic on society (see below). I have listed questions for you to address
in the essay, however you may add any additional points that you think are
relevant. You do not need to do any outside research.
