For this paper will you watch some portrayal of American government in film or television. Above are
some examples of possible films or television programs that deal with some aspect of American
government, law, or politics. You are welcome to find a program on your own, but prior to beginning
this paper you must get approval from me for whichever program you wish to review. EVERY STUDENT
MUST GET APPROVAL regardless of whether you use a program on this list or not. This paper should be
800 WORDS in length. You will have a ten percent leeway in either direction, meaning that your paper
could be between 720-880 words. Your paper should begin with a very short summary of the aspect of
the course that is portrayed in culture. The primary purpose of the paper is to have you evaluate the
accuracy of Hollywoodàportrayal. The paper should use at least 2 specific examples of how Hollywood
is either accurate or inaccurate based on your understanding of government through this course. The
key to any paper in this course is your ability to write in a concise manner. The word limit does not
afford you the opportunity to waste any space. The final aspect of your paper should evaluate the
strengths and weaknesses of Hollywoodàportrayal of this part of the course. This should be a short
critique regarding the value of the film in relation to an academic class. Any citations should be done
according to Chicago style formatting. Utilize Purdue OWL if you are unfamiliar with how to use Chicago
style citations.
