1. What is your topic
Access to Health Care
2. Why did you choose this topic
I believe ensuring everyone has access to high-quality healthcare services is crucial for
attaining health equality, sustaining good health, and avoiding and managing disease and early
death. Because not all patients have access to healthcare, healthcare practitioners may offer
better treatment by ensuring that patients can get the services they need.
3. What are the main pro sides of this topic
The pro side of healthcare access is that it makes it simpler for people to seek treatment.
Patients are more likely to live long and healthy lives when they have decent access to
healthcare. By providing patients with preventative care, early diagnosis and treatment of
health issues, and in certain cases, the management of chronic diseases, good access to
healthcare may enhance patients’ quality of life.
4. What are the main con sides
Well-known cons to care access is the high expense of healthcare, in particular large out-ofpocket patient payments. Patients often lack access to healthcare when they cannot afford it or
must choose between paying for other necessities like rent or food and healthcare.
5. Which ethical theory will you be using to support your stance
Deontology – According to this theory, medical practitioners have to be dedicated to providing
medical treatment to safeguard people from any disease or injury. Medical personnel must
safeguard each person’s safety in order to ensure their well-being.
6. What is your current stance on this topic (it is ok if it changes after researching it)
I fully support access to healthcare. I believe that expanding access to healthcare for everyone
will improve patients’ quality of life.
