GCU Qualitative or Quantitative Discussion
Description
Qualitative or Quantitative – which is ¥tter?”
Generally speaking I define qualitative examination as attempting to understand an individual or collective experience through the words of members from within the experience; you go straight to the horses mouth so to speak.
Quantitative analysis tends to reflect a metric examination of groups, across large populations; though we can also collect quantitative data on ratings of perceived quality to some degree (think of the likert scale assessments that ask you to rate a teacher or your level of satisfaction with a product or service on a scale of 1 to 5).
What from your perspective class might help us determine which method of data collection we are going to use?
Is one better than the other or are they simply different methods of getting to the same information?
