Peer review workshops on drafts will occur in this forum. You should read
the Workshop Expectations and Grading Rubric handout for the full details and
expectations, but the key guidelines are listed here:
Your documents must be attached (not posted in the message itself) to the post
as a .doc, .docx, or .rtf files. PDF files can be used as a last resort. Any work
submitted in any other form (i.e. Google drive or doc links) will be ignored and
the submitter forfeits the chance to participate in the workshop (and the grade).
Essays posted after the deadline will not be assigned workshop partners. Plan
ahead and don’t wait until the last minute to submit work.
The workshop process is generally the same each time:

You attach a completed draft to a post by the draft deadline
Shortly after that deadline, I assign partners based on who has posted on
time and post the relevant feedback form
You read your partners’ essays, complete a form for each, and post the
forms in this discussion board by the workshop deadline so everyone gets
feedback on their writing that aids in revising and editing for a final draft.
You will ALSO submit a copy of your feedback forms in the peer
review/workshop assignment dropbox (for me to grade your participation
in the process).
Draft your essay utilizing the conventions of argument and research
covered in the course.
You will ALSO submit a copy in the rough draft dropbox below.
Let me be very clear about the expectations for this draft:

Finished, full draft required. Partial drafts will not get
workshopped.
Your essay must include parenthetical citations and a Works Cited
page.
If a draft is not posted in the right place by the deadline as a .doc,
or .rtf file no workshop partner will be assigned.
For your memo of guidance, post TWO specific areas you want
your reader to give you extra guidance on (besides
grammar/proofreading). Suggestions:

Paragraphing (coherence, unity, development)
Introduction/conclusion including thesis
Integration of source material (framing with tags and
citations)
The logic and persuasiveness of the argument
Treatment of the opposition’s claims and rebuttals.
I’ll assign partners shortly after the deadline in the same discussion
board, as always.
