The topic that I`going to focus on is the traditional lifestyle of Going to college, getting married, buying a house, and raising your children. I know personally I wish that I had more of an expansive idea of what life meant. Instead I was taught that there is certain goals that you had achieved by a certain time period. I¥ spoke with many of my peers and associates about (e traditional4imeline of life. When were brought up we understand that the end goal is a family. But we never learn about the alternatives to the 2aditional4imeline. What happens when you don want kids or if you don feel that college is a necessary step for you and your future? Does that automatically mean your failure? What happens when the cost of living is extremely high and you can afford to buy a house instead of rent. But if there was more teaching about how women can have careers and children most people wouldn think there is a or in the middle of that statement. Thereàso many things that we look forward to in life and by time you hit 30 and have no kids people constantly ask when are you having children but no one ever wonders do you want children. No one thinks about the alternative may be some people find comfort and not having children or responsibility for another personàlife and how they will be when they grow up. Some people don understand that when you get married you don want to change your last name because itàyour identity and why should you give that away. We are constantly taught about the traditional life and we feel that if we deviate from it we failed in a way. But the fact is that life varies and doing it the ¯n-traditional7ay doesnt mean you failed.
