Description
You have been provided a copy of a transient CSTR model with this assignment on brightspace. This excel file is being used to model the relative products produced when 2 competing reactions are occurring. Using this excel sheet, answer the following questions:
a) Write the stoichiometry and rate equations for the forward reaction rates for the 2 reactions (r1, r2). Note that the values in F and G are the production rates of A (rA).
b) Create a plot of steady-state conversion and CD/CC vs. CA0 for CA0 = 0 to 0.2.
c) If you were told that at most your outlet product stream could contain 2 mol% of D, what is the maximum feed concentration of A you could use for this reactor for V = 10 L/min?
d) Is the formation of C over D preferred at lower or higher feed concentrations of A? Why?
e) What feed conditions and reactor volume would you use if you wanted to maximize the production rate of B while staying within the 2 mol% limit of D.
