Your topical assignment will be to compare training programs for two similar business aircraft. Just like
pilots, the maintenance technicians that work on the aircraft must be trained appropriately. The aircraft
maintenance technicians go to initial and recurrent training just like pilots for a type rating.
The scenario: you are a manager of an in-house flight department that is complete with its own in-house
maintenance department. You are looking to add to your fleet but upper management would like to see
the cost of training. You will put together a run-down of the various elements that are available for
training and their associated costs. That might include the cost of training maintenance personnel on
avionics, engines, airframes, etc. You should include the initial training cost and the maintenance
training costs.
This cost of training should be something you keep in mind as we move towards our end of semester
fleet review project!
