In a Word document, at the top of the page, write your name, course name, and article title, all in
separate lines. Then proceed with the debrief in Arial 12 font and single-spaced lines. The debrief is
comprised of two parts: Article Takeaways and Course Connection.
Takeaways: Write down (5 to 10 bullet points with the main ideas) all messages or insights you got from
reading the article. Shift your approach from a summary essay to a more succinct professional
advice/consultation focusing on actionable items or takeaways that a manager can immediately
understand and use. Provide sufficient but concise detail for an outsider to understand and implement.
Course Connection: Connect with the class lecture, textbook content, and learning objectives, or dive
deep into the possible application of your team activities or personal experience, describing specific and
detailed examples.
Format: Engage the reader through your information and improve professional impact. Use bold,
underline, or colored keywords/phrases for each paragraph, as well as you already did for the main
sections. Graphics and screenshots are welcome. Cite the article and any other sources or other courses
(must have).
There is no specific template; students can deliver the document as long it does not exceed two pages in
total.
