BUS 381 Group Research Project
To complete your group project your team will need to submit the following
deliverables.
1. Group Paper: Submit a m10 page0aper relating to your research project.
Include the following sections in your paper.
a. Business Aspects: In this section include discussion relating to the
business aspects of the research project e.g. why is this area of study
significant, what specific functions of the organization are
impacted/involved e.g. sales, marketing, finance, HR, etc.
b. Technical Aspects: In this section include the Information Technology
aspects of the project. Refer to our syllabus and course materials for
sections to include. At least four of the chapters/sections should be
included.
c. Team Collaboration: Include an excerpt from each member about how
the group worked together to accomplish the project.
2. Group Presentation: Limit your presentation to 5-10 minutes, including Q&A.
Additional Details:
For the project, you will analyze what seems to be a successful example of
Information Systems and Organizational design practice. You might study an
apparently successful example of the following themes:
1 Preparing people to work in Information Systems settings.
2 Leveraging Information Systems to take advantage of the business context
in a specific organization, city, or country.
3 Shaping policies, project management techniques, etc. to use data as an
asset in achieving organizational goals.
It is all right if your research shows that the endeavor is not as successful as it
seemed. Where clear gaps exist, you may suggest a potential solution, keeping in
mind the time constraints you have.
Next session you and your team will submit a proposal for your project. In no more
than three minutes, please briefly describe yourselves, your topic, and the reasons
you have chosen it.
Your paper/presentation should include the following themes (you can think of
