1. Assignment Background and Description
The topic of ¥ro Carbon Building(as become an important and integral part of the goal to reduce
carbon emissions and combat climate change. We hear the words árbon Footprint!nd ¥t-Zero
Carbon!lmost every day, but what does it really mean, and what can we do to achieve them?
In this assignment, you will play the role of a consultant of sustainability. You will research a project and
review its carbon footprint.
You will use the áGBC_Zero_Carbon_Building_Standard_v2_Performance.pdf” posted on Moodle as
the basis for the assignment.
For the project you have selected, give a brief overview of the project and its objectives. Identify how the
project rates from the design (ZCB-Design v2) and performance (ZCB-Performance v2) perspectives.
How does the project score? Use the image below as a guide to what your report should contain.
Discuss any gaps they have in their plan and approaches or suggestions you would advise the company
on how they can reduce their carbon/energy footprint.

Identification of how the project rates, or will rate, in performance
Identification of gaps in their project plan that could improve their carbon/energy score
This assignment is a group assignment, so you will work with the other members of you group to
develop your research report. This assignment is worth 25% of your final grade.
