My understanding of higher education has been significantly changed through the course exploring effective leadership in higher education, university safety and security, and administration of distance education in higher education. Through this course, I have gained a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities in higher education and the strategies and tools necessary to address them. Additionally, I have been exposed to various theoretical perspectives and best practices related to the various aspects of higher education. One practical lesson I have learned through this course is the importance of communication and collaboration between stakeholders within higher education. This includes administrators, faculty, students, alumni, and other community members. Effective communication and collaboration between stakeholders are essential for the success of higher education institutions (McCaffery, 2019).

Additionally, it is essential to create a positive and inclusive environment in which all stakeholders feel respected and valued. The second practical lesson I learned through this course is the importance of data-driven decision-making in higher education. Data-driven decision-making is essential for understanding the current state of higher education, identifying trends and patterns, and developing strategies to address issues and challenges. Additionally, data-driven decision-making can help to ensure that decisions are based on evidence and facts rather than assumptions and biases. The third practical lesson I learned through this course is the importance of developing a comprehensive safety and security plan. Safety and security are essential for creating a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff. A comprehensive safety and security plan should include procedures and protocols for responding to emergencies and preventative measures to reduce the risk of injury and crime (Gawlik-Kobyli?ska, 2021).

Moreover, safety and security plans should also include measures to ensure the physical and mental well-being of students, faculty, and staff. My biblical understanding of higher education has significantly changed through this course. I understand that higher education is an essential tool for preparing students to be practical and ethical citizens of the world. Furthermore, I understand that higher education should be used to prepare students to understand and serve Godàpurposes in the world. Additionally, I have come to understand that higher education should be used to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage in meaningful and purposeful work. Finally, I understand that higher education should be used to develop students#haracter and spiritual growth.

Therefore, my understanding of higher education has significantly changed through the course exploring effective leadership in higher education, university safety and security, and administration of distance education in higher education.
