Grading of papers will be done in a holistic style, ie grading the paper as a whole. For example:

A. (90+) The paper not only addresses all aspects of the assignment, but it is also insightful.
The paper conveys a comprehension of both the content of the book and draws great
connections to the liberal arts. Additionally, the paper is written clearly, concisely and with
very few mistakes.
B. (80-90) The paper covers all the content and answers the questions asked above. The
paper is free of errors and is well written. It does not make the overarching connections to
warrant an A.
C. (70-80) While the paper covers the bare minimum of the questions, it fails to offer any
insight into the real connections that the assignment was hoping to make. For the most part,
it is reasonably clear, concise, and direct, although there are some problems in the writing.
D (60-70) The paper is lacking direct answers to the questions or is extremely poorly written
F (60-)The paper lacks both quality and misses the mark with content as well.
