ENGR 1201 – Introduction to Engineering
FINAL PROJECT
ENGR1201 all 2022
Deploy all Engineering Design Process steps to create a “Car Tablet and Cellphone Holder” which is
universal for most of car makes and models.
This Project is in form of group and each group has 4 to 5 members that should collaborate to complete
it by the end of this semester. Each group members are responsible to be engaged to work on this
project and have close cooperation with other members.
Your task is to consider Phase 1 through 5 from the Design Process in chapter 12 to design this product.
You can get idea from ones in the market, but you are not allowed to make copy of their design.
Your project must include not limited to:
– Research the market to find any other competitors
– Leading manufacturer(s) in the market
– Choosing best material to build the product (by Decision Table technic)
– Choosing best manufacturing method to build the product (by Decision Table technic)
– Project management technic to plan your project (GANTT, CPM)
– Suitable engineering drawing (3D or 2D) to support your design
(Using CAD software such as Fusion360 and Auto Cad is optional, but it has extra credit)
– Ergonomic and safety Factors
– List of engineering discipline(s) involved for building this product
When and How to submit
Your final project must be submitted by Dec. 15th through D2L(There is absolutely NO EXTENSION!!)
Two files must be submitted in D2L:
1- An MS-Word file regarding the detail of your final project Including Charts, Data, Technical Drawing,
research outcomes etc. (at least 10 pages ouble space rial or Times New Roman- font size: 11)
2- An MS-PowerPoint presentation file that presents your Word file

ust be at the end of your paper
In week #14 you must send a Gantt Chart to show the status of your project (progress percentage)

This Gantt Chart could be created by several software such as GanttProject, MS-Project etc.
The method of making a Gantt chart in GanttProject software is provided in Week 10

All group members should do an equal amount of work.
Respect each otheràideas.
Help each other to understand all concepts.
Be willing to cooperate with others on their ideas.
Non-cooperative situation must be reported to your instructor asap. An valuation Form7ill be
provided in this regard and is mandatory to be filled by each student.
