You need to submit two files:
a. An excel sheet of your work through the LMS drop box, write your names clearly. I need to see the excel
functions you used in order to get full credit.
b. A word or PDF file in which you provide the explanation of your work.
# Only one member of the group can submit on behalf of the others.
1. Groups of 2 students need to be formed, all members must be from one section (mixing students from two section
is not allowed), the names of group members must be reported in the shared google sheet using the link below (one
group member can do this on behalf of all other members), Access is given to PSU email IDs only, you will not get
access using your personal no PSU email address.

2. Each group must select one sector from the Saudi Exchange market. Then select at least five companies in the
selected sector.
3. No duplicated selection is allowed, that is, each group should have different sector and stocks than other groups. To
assure this, each group need to check the above link for the shared google sheet and make sure that their companies
have not been selected by other groups, then write down your selected companies next to your group members
name. Failing to do this, you will automatically lose 50% of the grade.
4. Requirements in the Excel file:
4.1. Calculate the Expected rate of return for each of your selected companies.
4.2. Calculate the variance and standard deviation for each of your selected companies.
4.3. If you allocate your amount of investment equally on the selected companies, calculate the expected
portfolioàrate of return and the portfolioàvariance and standard deviation.
4.4. Calculate the sharp ratio for each of the selected companies.
4.5. Referring to the sector index. Calculate the same requirements in 4.1 – 4.4 for the sector index.
4.6. Referring to the market index. Calculate the same requirements in 4.1 – 4.4 for the sector index.
5. Requirements in the word file
5.1. Write a brief description about the sector profile.
5.2. Explain your selection of the companies.
5.3. Based on the calculated variables in 4.1 – 4.6 provide explanation for your results.
5.4. Visualize your analysis using graphs, tables and others.
5.5. Based on the previous analysis, provide your recommendation about investing in the selected companies and
sector. Do you think that sector has good investment potential?
