RESPONSE: 6-1 Discussion: Capstone Reflection 489 (MR)
Question Description
I’m working on a supply chain discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
In response to DBR6-1, offer some advice. For instance, now that you have had time to reflect, is there some sage advice that you can offer to someone that might be having the same problem you were/are having?

Hello everyone,
There is a bunch of items going well on my capstone. First, the amount of information on my chosen
company is enormous. Second, the feedback and additional resources from classmates has been great.
Last week alone, one classmate gave me an avenue I never realized. Unfortunately, there is so much to
read on the topic. It is becoming overwhelming and difficult to narrow down. I mentioned in one of the
earlier discussions that I needed to limit myself. That statement is 100% accurate with the massive
number of articles and websites I found. I guess too much is far better than not enough.
Another problem I have been having is time management. However, this is not in a normal means. I
must limit the amount of time with my research. I found myself reading way too much into some of the
smallest details. For example, I gave myself only two hours of research last Friday. I discovered black
Friday sales for beer. Most of the sales were on merchandise instead of the beer unfortunately. But I got
into the historical data from the past few years on how much beer people buy on black Friday compared
to other holidays. I know most of you are thinking I am getting distracted with useless data. The articles
are great for the capstone. The holiday opportunities are another aspect I never considered. The data
can be added in that section or another threat. Competitoràsales also go up during this time. But again,
there is so much to investigate and not enough time to do it in.
Taking the holiday idea one step further, the opportunity portion of my SWOT analysis might change a
bit. I remember as a child seeing holiday commercials for beer. I really have not seen or noticed any in a
few years. There are several awesome, well at least in my crazy mind, marketing ideas I can think of.
None are dirty in any sense, but great images for customers to steer towards their products. Well, I hope
everybody had and nice Thanksgiving. If you are having any problems, remember the light at the end of
the tunnel is right there. Three more weeks to go.
