Hip-hop grew out of the Black Arts and Power Movements as a cultural phenomena that advocates
social awareness and self-consciousness. In Spike Leeàfilm Do the Right Thing, the song ©ght the

a character within the film. Radio Raheem utilizes the song as a protest against the lack of racial
