The first time I completed the simulation, the company had high success and became a Fortune 500
company, but the family aspect was medium. The last time I completed the simulation, both aspects
were high. I found that even though the company was successful, it was still important to ensure the
family was satisfied as well. I believe the biggest change for me was choosing to let the family
member/daughter act as CEO. Even though she inevitably failed and stepped down, it helped the family
feel more confident in the decision to hire an outside CEO. The second and third times I completed the
simulation, I was definitely making decisions with the family more in mind than the first time. Overall, I
believe I made the right decisions for the better of the family and the company. However, it was difficult
for me to try to think about what was best for the family and not just the company. But ultimately, what
is best for the company is also going to benefit the family. I would not change any of my decisions.
