STCC Public Health Group Counseling Observation & Stress Session Paper
Description
Using the completed checklist, students will write a 2-3-page paper addressing the key concepts and processes of that group counseling session. The paper should be double-spaced with one-inch margins.
If attending an in-person group: Provide the group topic, location, contact person, and contact information of the facilitator.
If using the provided pre-recorded video, describe your observation of these details if provided.
Write a summary of what happened. Give an overview of the topic and any necessary background information. Remember that the purpose is to demonstrate what you have learned, so you will not provide an exhaustive summary! You will need to determine what facts are relevant to the important lesson(s) that you learned.
- Using the completed checklist, address the skills/concepts/practices that the group leader did well and address some of the weaknesses of the session. This is the part of the paper that I expect to see specific and verbatim examples from the observed group session.
- Finally, summarize what you may have done differently and why. This part should be most of your paper
